School Features

Schools where students can learn Japanese not only in the classroom but also through a variety of extracurricular classes.

Classes are taught by qualified teachers in the “Direct Teaching Method”. Classes are small, ranging from 10 to 18 students, with remedial classes tailored to the needs of each student. In addition, individual counseling provides detailed guidance on life, study, and higher education. In addition, the school also emphasizes social interaction outside the classroom through extracurricular activities such as one-day bus trips, ski trips, sports tournaments, visits to fireworks displays, swimming pools, swimming in the sea, Christmas parties, speech contests, and other monthly events.

Greetings from the President

KEN Japanese Language Institute is based on the principle of “making the Japanese language and culture known to people around the world today.” Since its opening in 1989, people from dozens of countries have studied at the institute.

Many of our instructors also have experience studying abroad. “There were times when I had trouble communicating with people in other languages, and I had to deal with some unpleasant experiences. On the other hand, I was able to experience the joy of communicating in a foreign language and the advantages of other countries that are not found in Japan. Looking back on it now, it is strange to think of all the fun things I experienced, and it really made me realize that my study abroad experience was very meaningful for my life. Many of our lecturers look back on their study abroad experience as “a very meaningful experience in my life.

By the way, do you think Japanese is difficult? It is true that there are three kinds of characters alone: kanji, hiragana, and katakana, which can be difficult just to memorize. But that is exactly why it is a language worth studying.

The sound of insects, which sounds like “noise” to those of you whose mother tongue is not Japanese, is heard as “voice” by us Japanese. Physiologically, the difference lies in whether the left brain or the right brain hears the sound, but some scholars believe that the cause lies in the “Japanese language” itself.

Japanese culture and Japanese national character cannot be described without the Japanese language. We recommend that you learn Japanese in order to understand Japanese culture, which is different from your own culture. Let us take the first step in guiding you through this process.
