Admission Requirements

  1. Individuals who have completed 12 years of formal school education in a foreign country, or possess an equivalent level of academic ability.
  2. In principle, applicants must have graduated from their most recent school within the last five years. Those who exceed this period will be considered based on their background and reasons provided.
  3. Applicants must be able to cover tuition and living expenses while in Japan.
  4. Individuals who have clear future goals and a strong motivation to study.
Application Please contact KEN Japanese Language School or a certified study abroad agency.
Interview & Examination Applicants will take exams on Japanese language, general knowledge, composition, and basic academic ability. After that, an interview will be conducted, and acceptance will be determined based on overall evaluation. The date of the exam and interview will be communicated in advance and conducted either locally or online.
Document Screening Prepare the required documents and submit them to KEN Japanese Language School or a designated study abroad agency.
*As the documents for Immigration take time to prepare, please cooperate by submitting them early.
Application to Immigration Bureau The typical application schedule is as follows. Specific dates will be informed by the school.
Application Period
April Intake: Mid-November of the previous year
July Intake: Mid-March of the current year
October Intake: Early June of the current year
Announcement of Screening Results The Certificate of Eligibility will be issued by the Immigration Bureau according to the schedule below. The school will notify you of the result on the day the certificate is issued.
Issuance Period
April Intake: Late February of the current year
July Intake: Mid-May of the current year
October Intake: Mid-August of the current year
Tuition Payment After receiving the notification of Certificate of Eligibility issuance, please transfer the tuition fee to the designated account. Once payment is confirmed, the certificate will be sent to you.
Visa & Entry to Japan Apply for a student visa at the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your home country. After obtaining your visa, please enter Japan on the date designated by the school. A school staff member will pick you up at Narita Airport on the day of arrival.
